A tribute to the art and sea of Antibes

The Hotel Eden - La Baigneuse takes its name from the famous statue "La Baigneuse" (The Bather), created in 1934 by the artist Alphonse Grebel. This sculpture, which celebrates beauty and tranquility, is located on the Promenade du Soleil, directly opposite the hotel, with the sea as its backdrop. Alphonse Grebel, a sculptor, painter, and engraver, settled in Antibes in 1934, where he left a lasting artistic mark, notably with several iconic works such as "Hymne au Soleil" (Hymn to the Sun) and the statue of Saint Joan of Arc. Deeply affected by his experience during the First World War, he dedicated his life to art, teaching modeling and participating in numerous exhibitions. Our charming hotel, through its name, pays homage to this nearby artwork and to the artistic history of Antibes, symbolizing the meeting of the sea, art, and Mediterranean charm.
